The Semantic Web Science Association website is the public home of SWSA, a non-profit association supporting scholarly work in the Semantic Web and related fields.
Context
The site needs to serve an international academic community while keeping association information, governance, news, conference responsibilities, awards, and community activities easy to find.
My role
I worked on the public website and its technical maintenance, including repository ownership, custom-domain configuration, analytics, and content updates for the association’s evolving activities.
Work included
- Maintain the public SWSA website and domain setup.
- Improve the information structure around association activities and resources.
- Add analytics for visibility into website usage.
- Support updated ISWC and ESWC-related content as SWSA’s responsibilities evolve.
- Keep the site useful for researchers, members, organizers, and the broader Semantic Web community.
Why it matters
Academic association websites are infrastructure: they need to preserve institutional information, make responsibilities discoverable, and remain maintainable as committees, conferences, and community programs change.
